Southern Miss backup quarterback Stephen Reaves is expected to be on crutches for two weeks after undergoing athroscopic knee surgery to remove a floating bone chip.
Reaves, a senior-to-be who played in seven games last season behind starter Jeremy Young, completed 51.4 percent of his passes for 488 yards and two touchdowns.
Reaves, who had reconstructive surgery on the same knee while sitting out the 2005 season after transferring from Michigan State, is expected to be ready for spring practice.
