Knee Surgery claims another Athlete:
University of Arizona basketball player Jawann McClellan had surgery on his right knee last week, the school announced.
The 6-foot-4 sophomore guard also had his left wrist repaired in January, but he anticipates being ready for the start of practice in October.
McClellan, of Houston, had surgery to repair the cartilage in his right knee.
“They just went in and cleaned things out,” McClellan said in a statement. “I feel good about how it went and am looking forward to getting healthy and back on the court.”
McClellan averaged 4.0 points and 1.5 rebounds in two games this season. He suffered a torn ligament in his left wrist on Jan. 14 and had surgery Jan. 19.
